When popular Britney Allen moves from posh Pacific Vista to working-class Crenshaw Heights, her life goes from cheer-topia to cheer-tastrophe. Thoughts
We’ve been working through the Bring It On movies and were keen on getting to this one as the two main stars are slightly more famous than the pair in the previous movie. It follows the same sort of pattern - two cheerleading teams are going head to head and there’s rivalry and trash talk and romance and bitching, and plenty of cheerleading in between.
Although it’s supposed to be a bit of a coup to have Rihanna in this movie, presenting the final showdown and makign that decision, it feels a bit off, throwing the film out of balance a bit. That and all the casual racism being thrown around make it not quite as good as it could have been, but otherwise an enjoyably fluffy film.
