1:45Always at the start of this film, it makes me want to play the game.
5:38It's a bit of a step up to the training you get to do on the obstacle course.
9:02Having to wait 5000 years if you miss it, that's quite a lot of pressure.
13:08Is the alignment of the planets actually a thing? I suppose it must happen at some point.
17:30Lara is quite literally "I'll get a hammer."
19:27It's James Bond!
23:24The great thing about Lara is that she's never subtle.
26:05"I've always found your ignorance quite amusing."
32:27This is turning out to be a very expensive raid.
35:40Is Lara left handed? Or maybe just Angelina?
36:21That's so Back to the Future - a letter to be delivered on a specific time and date.
43:40Love the backpack thing, where she goes to put the letter away and it just disappears.
50:39"I need you to get to the piece so I can steal it from you later."
55:58These stone things may look scary but they break pretty easy. Not a great adversary.
59:28Swallow dive coming up.
1:01:33Laughing at the monk holding the satellite for the phone, trying to look inconspicuous.
1:10:06She told Bryce to pack for Venice, but actually he needed colder gear than that.
1:13:34The truck/boat things are kinda awesome.
1:16:24It can't be so warm in there that she can be sleeveless.
1:19:55It's fun to have the big build up speech and then the clang as it doesn't work.
1:30:53I forgot there were so many game references. Love the "A-ha."

Thoughts

I'm not entirely sure how I've managed to get this far without Film Watching this. It feels like I've seen it relatively recently too, but I reckon I might have caught snippets of it on TV, it's always on the box! Anyway, love it. Love the game and love the film, so we absolutely knew what we were getting into when we settled down to watch this one.

It was just as I remembered it - a glammed up Hollywood version of the game, but with enough references to make it a good adaptation. Spotting the moves that you can and can't do on the Playstation, as well as the backpack and the bonus A-ha at the end are all part of the fun. The presence of Chris Barrie, Julian Rhind-Tutt, and even James Bond with his terrible American accent, also make it feel more friendly. It's also a good story, which is half the battle, and the time-controlling element of it appeals to me enormously.
