1:04Is having massive long credits a Spiderman thing?
1:31Although this is slightly more entertaining, telling the story of the first film through images.
2:43We'll have eaten all the popcorn by the time the film starts.
4:04You don't tend to lose a customer if you give them free pizza.
9:12How do secret identities get so rubbish Clark Kent, Peter Parker, all clutzs!
11:57"The way she looks at you, the way she doesn't look at you." Essentially just the way she looks then.
15:28It is really irritating how he doesn't move his lips, or hardly any of his face, when he talks.
19:05Oh, Alfred Molina! Awesome!
22:24I don't think anyone has ever read me poetry.
25:32He's going to disappoint her.
27:31Spiderman theme tune!
31:03He seems to be having a pretty miserable life. If that's what being Spiderman does for you, why would you keep doing it?
37:54It's Jin!
40:55I don't get where all the extra length of arm comes from. They weren't that long when he first put them on.
44:25The amazing newspaper guy has an astronaut for a son. It gets better!
50:42Note to self, always have an umbrella with a hook.
55:55Actually, the poetry thing is way awkward.
1:06:22She can't act when he's not there, and she can't act when he is! No win situation.
1:16:52You have to love the press. He laughed as he chased Spiderman into retirement, but now asks where their hero is.
1:23:54I would always be immensely suspicious of the one character the superhero "opened up" to.
1:37:21"I"m gonna speed it up."
1:40:42They can all see his face!
1:49:39I think "be steady" is great advice.
1:51:58I don't get it. She totally knew at the end of the last film, it can't be a mega surprise now.
1:58:07Did he make spares of the mask and the flying thing then? Because they were definitely with him when he died.
2:02:47The terrible dialogue seems to only occur between the pair of them.

Thoughts

I had vague recollections of this one, I knew it had the bad guy in it with lots of mechanical limbs, but that was all I could really remember. In our process of working through these three Spider-Man films in preparation for the new reboot, we found the first wasn't as good as we thought, but the second came a bit more highly rated.

This was looking a lot better than the first one, more interesting story, fascinating emotions going on, and intriguing bad guy. Unfortunately, it all went on a bit too long, with some pretty awful scenes between MJ and Peter. They had to do the son finding the dad's Green Goblin stuff, but all that was another extra scene that seemed to ruin the tension of everything that had gone before. It was a better film, but the dialogue between the pair is awful, and it's hard to get behind them as a couple. Cut out a few of the more painful scenes and we'd be in business.
