On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the 'Miracle on the Hudson' when Captain 'Sully' Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

Thoughts
It's crazy how emotionally charged this film is, considering that it's a true story and we all know how it's going to end. I didn't enjoy the beginning, where it was all a little Hollywood, and there were proper plane crashes that freaked me out and never actually happened. Also the drama with the family on either side of the wing, moving but slightly out of place, I felt.
Meanwhile, the bits I really did enjoy where the more procedural aspects - what happened during the flight, what happened afterwards, the process of investigating (as awful as that was), and the way it all worked through to a satisfying and heroic ending.
Great work by Tom Hanks, as always, specifically managing to walk the tricky line of being confident you've done the right thing with just a few seeds of doubt tripping you up along the way.
