Thoughts
Really interesting film, this one, and yet another movie that gives me plenty of lessons in history to shore up my woeful store of knowledge. You can't go wrong with Hanks and Streep, they were both excellent in their roles that showed very different sides to the newspaper industry and how they converged to fight the good fight for the free press.
I did think the pacing of the story dragged in places, but there were fun moments that kept things lighter than they otherwise would have been (the lemonade kid for one). For the most part, I just thought it was a really interesting story that told of how those in power want one thing, and those that aren't want to make sure they are being told the truth. The juxtaposition of Streep's character wanting to have dinner with everyone as opposed to Hanks' guy wanting to report on them all was a fascinating one to behold.
Great film, perhaps not perfect, but served to pique my interest in another historical adventure that I otherwise would not really have known much about.
