Thoughts

I wasn't expecting to like this one all that very much, although I'm obsessed with Hugh Jackman and would watch him in anything. The trailer made it seem as though they were taking the greatness of X-Men and then making a film in a completely different part of the world with a completely different outlook.

That's exactly what it was, but it was no bad thing. I loved the look of the whole film, it was beautifully shot and with Japan as your background, you don't have to try that hard to make a gorgeous picture.

Jackman was great, portraying the aching Wolverine to perfection - troubled, confused, lost, looking for purpose. It was great to see him out of his natural habitat and thrust into a world of high speed trains, ninjas with rope arrows, and a slightly odd robot grandpa.

There were some inconsistencies, the worst being the fact that Wolverine had his memories back in the first place, but you can put that to one side for a film full of great action, moving sequences, and plenty of Hugh flexing his muscles. Rila Fukushima was incredible, and the bonus post-credit scenes made me double gasp, as you can see above.
