Thoughts
I love this film. Have loved it since I first saw it. Back when I had a heart of stone, it was one of the few that would make me cry. But it also has the witty dialogue and the great disaster movie scenes that I love.
I had sort of been saving it for a special occasion, but actually, in the end, it just felt like the right time to watch it again. It was all the brilliant things I remembered - great characters, far-fetched but wonderful story, and fab one-liners. And if it reduced me to tears when I was hard-hearted, I was in floods this time.
Initially, it's just the bit where she tells the kid he's just a salesman. But at the end, pretty much as soon as the straws are drawn, I was gone. I love it and I don't care what anyone says. It's one of the best films ever, because it is both brilliant and rubbish in equal measure.
