Thoughts
Let me be frank about this: I was already a couple of glasses of wine in when we started watching this, and that is the only explanation of the fact that I basically cried for all of the second hour.
I haven't seen the original cartoon version since I was a kid so I'd actually forgotten a good chunk of the story, although remembered how lovely some of the songs are. Great cast, lovely story, quite a lot of shots where you just know nothing you're looking at is real but I guess that just adds to the magic-ness of it all.
Mr C, who isn't a huge fan of musicals, said this was his favourite to date, and had a good ratio of story to songs, which is a big thumbs up.
