16:20Oh no, we need to watch John Wick.

23:50The X-Men shutting the door quietly is legit the best thing I've ever seen.
29:57I can't believe that kid knows RoboCop.
34:34"Is there, like, a Sorting Hat?"
40:45The kid is rubbish but I like his persistence.
47:02What three questions would you ask someone from the future?
55:43"I'll know when I know. Everything usually works out for me."

1:24:07Love that he's gaffe taped up his suit.
1:28:44Ryan Reynolds just called out the bit of the film Mr C hates. Big CGI bit coming up!
1:38:24"I hope the Academy is watching."
1:43:20Forgot what Reynolds actually looked like.

1:53:34I feel like he's misusing his power.

Thoughts

You know what you're getting into with a Deadpool film - that intensely meta, self-aware nonsense packed with references and jokes that are impossible to keep up with, but also managing to fit in some semblance of a recognisable superhero story with a satisfying conclusion.

It's hard not to like these films, although I don't think I enjoyed this one quite so much as the first - perhaps because the element of surprise had gone. And I had two minor quibbles with it. The first being that I really don't remember Deadpool being quite so indestructible, perhaps that's just my brain but ripping in half wasn't the most pleasant thing I've seen.

Also, if you don't take yourself seriously as a film, at all, for even a single moment, then it's hard for me to buy in to the more emotional moments. I'm not letting my guard down Deadpool, you're not fooling me.

But it doesn't matter, because for every quibble, there's a moment of genius that more than makes up for it. Keep it up, Deadpool!
