0:43I remember watching a behind the scenes thing about how they did the feather thing. Blew my mind at the time.

55:04The wide eyes as he runs out of the forest with an airstrike behind him are chilling.

1:17:35"I didn't know I was supposed to be looking for him."
1:26:17Sally Field really does the various ages brilliantly.
1:35:53As terrifying as Dan's position on the top of the mast is, it also looks kinda refreshing.

Thoughts

I've seen this many times before, it's one of the few films I'd watch over and over on DVD when I was younger. I even watched a lot of the extras to learn all about green screening and that kind of fun and games.

It's such a good film, feel good and funny after all this time, heart-wrenching in places but ultimately a nice movie with a happy ending. Quotable in so many places, I'd forgotten a lot of them but they all came flooding back. It's long, and I don't always get on with long films, but I was feeling under the weather and this was the perfect film to fill the gap.

I hadn't realised it was Robin Wright from House of Cards playing Jenny, so that has connected some dots for me. Otherwise, it was all about Tom Hanks, doing what he does best!
