1:01Can you make a playlist on vinyl? Lot of swapping records over.
7:17This is why people in bands drive vans. Wedging a guitar case in can't be good for it.
14:30"We go to the same dentist." Weird place to meet.
16:52Well, she seems nice.
19:48"Nicky is definitely worth the underwire."
23:55Ah ha, good tip. Don't drive a yellow car in New York.
25:39"Cherish one another, folks."
32:13Driving around the city screaming Caroline doesn't seem like the best strategy.
37:50Ew, too gross.
40:54Dancewich.
59:20Must be good to know you can go in any club and use the facilities, at any time.
1:06:20That car really could do with some TLC.
1:10:21"We're close enough to the kerb now."
1:15:19Date in a recording studio is brilliant.

Thoughts

Mr C built this film up to me, having watched himself previously. He thought it was one that I needed to save until I had improved music/culture knowledge, but now I do, and now we've watched it, it's clear that's not true at all.

I'm also not that sure I enjoyed it, really. I can see how it's a cult classic, and there's something comforting about the slightly mundane story of two teenagers trundling around the city for a night in search of, but not quite finding, excitement. Yet, a lot of it missed the mark for me. I can't fathom following a band around when you don't actually know where they are, and the whole bit with the friend in the toilet, and the sharing of chewing gum, it's all just not my thing.

I liked the dialogue in the studio though, and would have paid good money to see the right-handed player have a go at a left-handed guitar.
