Thoughts

I was worried about this one, after the endless reports about having to re-edit it and change the tone of the movie and stuff, but thankfully it delivered. It was a difficult challenge, I think, to create a story with just the guidance of "stealing the plans", and knowing you have to fit in between two already existing films.

But everyone did a great job. The story works really well, you almost instantly care about all the characters, and that sassy robot really takes the edge off the intensity of the story.

The digitally created footage was interesting, not quite up to scratch, but not so bad as to make me hate it like I did with The Terminator. I wonder if they couldn't have limited the screen time of the Governor just a little bit more so as to keep it mysterious, but they did a good job with the resources available.

I was sad that in the end pretty much everyone had to be killed off, particularly the brave rogue pilot, but understand that otherwise we would already know about them and they would have appeared in Episode IV. So with that in mind, they're all heroes and it's a great addition to the Star Wars universe.
