2:52Already, the effects are a million times better. Phew.
5:49Terminator coming out of the flames at the end of the credits, not terrifying at all. Nuh uh. Eek!
9:56The trouble with motorcycle gear is that uncomfortable leather squeak.
14:06The kid from Big has gone rogue!
17:54The photo!
18:32Still no helmets on all these bikers.
24:17Bah. You make improvement and it's still not enough. I'd get rage too.
28:28Arnold's rifle makes much better sounds than the piddly pistol.
29:25That guy just stood by watching and taking pictures. Not a new phenomenon at all.
32:47Pretty epic chase scene. The truck off the bridge. Arnie's reloading skills.
37:22So many lines for Arnie this time.
43:47John Connor's drunk with power.
48:47What? How can it be the floor?
56:59"Come with me if you want to live." YES!
59:09The slithery Terminator dude just reminds me of Alex Mac.
1:12:21She has a secret bunker!
1:13:19Take away the cigarette and she looks just like Lara.
1:15:23Totally associating with the Terminator here. "Why do you cry?"
1:19:54Wow, that is kick-ass Connor!
1:31:21That's a different kind of written authorisation.
1:31:38Love that gaffa tape is the child's weapon of choice.
1:41:36Seems really handy to have your own Terminator around. I want one.
1:49:51Oh god, that's a helicopter crash I couldn't even have dreamt of.
1:56:11Ugh, why do they have to keep on coming back?

Thoughts

Neither of us had realised there's a new entry in the Terminator series coming soon, but after watching the trailer to Genisys, we realised we had some work to do to catch up. I watched the first film a long time ago, Film Watch #25, and although I liked the film, some dodgy CGI ruined it for me. We watched that one again before moving on to this, the second.

Mr C suggested this was one of his favourite films, but hadn't seen it for a while and hoped it lived up to the hype. I think it did. It's certainly one of the few sequels that is a million times better than the original - although you need the first to know what's going on in the second. I really like the new Terminator, and his progression through learning how to be more human. His relationship with John Connor is great, and the end actually made me tearful.

Sarah Connor is so much better in this one, a fabulous lead, and Sigourney-esque in her kick-ass nature. The film itself was good, a bit too long and jeez the serial killer style of always coming back one or two more times at the end does get old. I missed the time travel references, there's not much except the brief conversation under the car. There were also a few story elements that confused me and didn't quite make sense, but never mind. It made up for it in action sequences and some genuine jaw-dropping moments. Plus the CGI was so much better, I had zero complaints on that front.
