1:35They are not being very subtle. It's like being followed by the Google car.
5:09I like them reading out the plot of the film to us at the start.
8:06It's James Bond!
10:15They can't possibly fix a burnt letter, surely?
11:14No way!
12:32What if there was no one? The plan would be ruined.
13:59She's quite upfront. "That's a terrible name."
16:20Chemistry or not, the dialogue is fun.
19:23That looks like an awesome train. I want to go on it.
23:12As ever, it takes five minutes of screen time to remember Johnny Depp is ace. He's annoying like that.
26:37I like the idea of a hotel you can only get to by boat.
31:03Scampi is never a graceful word to say.
35:26Is he trying to look inconspicuous? All by himself, in a gondola, at night.
40:54Uh oh. The trouble starts.
43:50At some point, he has to fall in a roof, surely? Venice can't be that sturdy.
47:38Where did she go?
48:46What was that? A cool gadget for disposing of cigarettes! I don't smoke but I want one.
51:02Oh no! Corrupt Italian man.
53:03The lady from Tomb Raider boating around the streets of Venice.
53:25This is the slowest getaway ever.
1:01:48She put his book in there and everything.
1:05:46Slightly confused now.
1:06:39He's doing what he wants to do, like she told him too.
1:13:18A lot of this film is people talking at their wrists.
1:15:31Isn't he not supposed to be on the case? How can he afford the boats and stuff?
1:16:52Are we ever going to see Pearce? How can he be better than Johnny Depp?
1:24:48It's all quite tense.
1:25:41He can't have learnt how to pick a lock just by watching her.
1:28:23"He's a tourist," like that's a bad thing.
1:30:45Wow. Boom. That's one way to clear a room.
1:33:58It's so obvious. I basically said it out loud and still didn't get it.
1:37:08Is that Muse?

Thoughts

I've read quite a lot of bad reviews of this film, mostly revolving around the fact that whilst Angelina and Johnny are good enough, they don't necessarily have the chemistry you might hope for. However, I'm not one to judge a film on reviews, happy to give two such stars a chance!

You know, in the end I actually quite liked it. It wasn't the best film I've ever seen but it had it's moments. The relationship between the two was odd, but I wouldn't say it was lacking chemistry.

I'm frustrated at myself and the twist. I said it out loud. I wrote it down, and I still didn't get it.

I feel like this film is on the same level as Knight and Day, almost the same story although with roles reversed. However, the characters are more intriguing and/or likeable, and the acting is much better.

I'm torn between handing out a 3 out of 5, or a 4, but I will have to decide.

Rating: 3 / 5
