2:12Love the description of Paul Rudd, the leading man in a romantic comedy.
4:53So far, their story is just like You've Got Mail.

Thoughts

We watched this for two reasons - firstly, that it was available digitally at the same time as being in the cinema and secondly, it has Paul Rudd in it. The trailer actually didn't thrill me too much, I thought it looked silly.

As we started watching, it became clear why. It's a spoof! I hadn't realised going into it, but once my expectations were aligned with what we were watching, it was totally brilliant. A mixture of parody, homage and generally just poking fun, there were references galore and plenty of funny lines to repeat endlessly afterwards.

There were a few unnecessary bits for my tastes, but that's sort of what you get with this kind of film. Overall, very watchable, enjoyable and not the usual rom-com sickly sweetness, even at the end!
