I've played a couple of games like this before, where you have to sort liquids of different colours into vials, but they've always had interrupting ads in them. This one, via Apple Arcade, was guaranteed ad-free, so I could give it my full attention. I've played through past level 50 and am still dipping in occasionally, although there's not really any sense of how many levels there are still to play.

It's in the Game

The mechanics of the gameplay are super simple - tap, watch the water move, repeat. That's a positive thing because it delivers on the relaxing and mindful promise from the description. But it can also be quite frustrating. When you can see several moves ahead, depending on which liquid is in which vial, you have to wait for one move to finish before you can complete the steps. I've ended up tapping my nails on the desk a few times.

I also did not enjoy the sound effects. That specific trickle of water noise set my teeth on edge. You do have the setting to switch audio off, but just a warning for anyone sensitive to that kind of noise.

On the better side, if you get stuck, there's an option to buy a small vial that holds one set of one colour, and it's relatively cheap, costing 100 in-game coins, and you get 30 for each level. You get extra for special levels, which pop up every now and again, although they look and play the same as normal levels so I'm not sure what distinguishes them as special.

Either way, you can build up a good fund on the easy levels and keep on breezing through. I like that as an option, it's certainly helped me on a couple of the harder levels.

It can get repetitive if you play it too long or too much. For me, three or four levels per sitting is enough, and it's a good app to have to hand if you need to while away a few minutes.

Thoughts

This is a game that is easy to learn and interruptible. It's the kind of app that I'll go back to, but I don't necessarily feel the urge every day. It's got the same occasional gameplay as It's Literally Just Mowing but doesn't quite have the same 'cleared this lawn' satisfaction levels. Plus the frustration waiting for vials to pour means this one gets a 4 out of 5.
