1:26Their quest to protect the humans... but the threat should have gone by now, otherwise the first movie was a waste.
3:53Fergie's husband is a good looking chap.
7:24Mr C and I already struggling with: "Is that a good one or a bad one?"
7:54They're not being very subtle again.
12:50It's just like Gremlins! Crazy creatures scuttling about the kitchen.
16:45Bumble Bee can cry?
18:02Can we have more fighting less smooching please?
25:00"What if we leave, and you're wrong?"
29:30Never let your parents come to college.
32:08A load of separate mini transformers can make one big one?
37:08This film gets more and more like Herbie.
38:30"Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing."
42:43What is that! There is something more important than Megatron?
49:08The robots seem to have more personality this time out.
51:33It can't be a person.
58:20How do they act something like that? Pulling at his mouth and everything.
1:00:08Perhaps this is the reason for deforestation.
1:01:27It's a bit Lord of the Rings. Everything's a remix.
1:03:36Interesting they show tiny bits, like Fergie's chap getting the bad news. No time for real emotion, but just to know it happened.
1:06:59That's just like Titanic. Is there an original idea in this movie?
1:08:54They hinted at President Bush in the first film, now Obama gets a namecheck.
1:14:27"We don't really do much reading."
1:30:27Not many films take a good few minutes out to explain the situation.
1:42:42Bumble Bee, quite literally, banged their heads together.
1:45:39Optimus Prime, parachuting in.
1:48:52Now I'm worried because he _didn't_ talk about his baby.
1:51:19Did a Transformer just break a pyramid?
1:53:40Woah, that's even more mega than Megatron.
2:03:45Lots of metal fighting metal again.
2:06:01That is an epic army hovercraft.
2:14:01First time I've actually felt the emotion in two entire movies.
2:17:09But he JUST said it wasn't a thing, it was earned. They didn't earn it, so how can they have the thing?
2:18:14Now he must be a flying truck.
2:21:53Another speech from Optimus, off he goes on his soapbox.

Thoughts

After watching the first film in the series, and not being completely put off, we decided to watch the second almost immediately afterwards, to see where they went with the story, to see more excellent CGI, and to see if Megan Fox learned how to act.

I have almost the same feelings about this one as I did the last. Great CGI, not so great acting from all involved, and a story that could have been so much more but had terrible flaws throughout.

There were better moments - I liked the robots with extra personality, some of the scenes between the college roommate and the butcher chap (I didn't really get any names), more good looking cinematography.

There were also terrible bits - apparently Transformers aren't meant to take over humans, there was an epic CGI fail at the end that took us out of the action, and some far too emotional bits for a hard-hearted person like me.

Overall, the same as the first, in that I mostly enjoyed it, felt a bit let down at times, felt it could be a lot better, but not completely put off. I think I liked this one a little better, and I'm intrigued to see what the third offers, especially when it's missing Ms Fox.
