1:10Submarine! Already this is my favourite.
4:30Yay for super Russian spy being a woman.
6:25James Bond theme 70s remix version!
16:14Heat tracking a submarine seems impossible to me. They go so deep.
17:41Putting classical music over stuff like that always makes it a bit more eerie.
25:10"You are very suspicious, Mr Bond." "I find I live longer that way."
30:50Jaws is a vampire???
34:28"Married only once..." WHAT, I thought they were pretending that never happened.
49:06Positive mental attitude, and food. That's pretty much all you need for life, really.
52:00Egyptian bunker.
54:26Decapitation hoverboard tea tray. Only Q could come up with that.
1:00:10Jaws gets thrown from a moving train, just picks himself up and literally dusts himself off.
1:01:49We both cheered! Who's ever cheered a Lotus before?
1:02:34Q has a name! Boothroyd?
1:06:00Strongberg dude has webbed hands.
1:07:49"I wish to conduct life on my own terms." Heck yeah.
1:17:26Some of the music in this is so Bee Gees.
1:42:30Taking out the magnetic detonator was more tense than I expected!
1:46:29It is far less sexy when Bond just reads the manual.
1:55:17I'm never going to get in a lift again.
1:59:07Jaws vs Jaws. He's just eaten a shark.
2:01:33I LOVE an escape pod.

Thoughts

This was by far the best James Bond film to date! Fun from the start, and although it's a two hour film just like the previous ones, it never felt too long. With submarines as the main plot, I was always going to be a fan, but when you throw in an interesting plot, an underwater car, some foot and car chases around the Egyptian pyramids, and the horror that is Jaws, well there's very little missing.

The only two things I didn't like were the 1970s music and the 1970s fashion - neither of which can really be helped given when the film was made. Talking of which, I did think the effects all stood the test of time well, particularly at the end with the boat on fire. Aside from not having footage of a nuclear submarine blowing up and using stock footage instead, it was for the most part a really solid visual piece.

And they referenced the poor deceased wife! At last!

Loved it.
